Note to Self: Don't cut your hair again. It's only fun for the first few weeks. You like having long hair. You reeeally do.

It's UCLA's Volunteer Day today! (: Basically all the buses came and loaded us up and took us to all these different locations to volunteer. It's supposed to be the biggest volunteer effort in the nation, or something like that!

Our C building went to this place called My Friend's Place in Hollywood (I knew it was Hollywood because I saw the Chinese Theatre where Chris Tucker took Jackie Chan to in the beginning of Rush Hour ... and then I saw all the stars on the sidewalk hahaha). It's basically this shelter where homeless people ages 12-25 can go to find food and other necessities.

Everyone wanted to go in and help paint, but Madison, Natalie, and I got stuck picking up trash lol. I didn't want to get my hands dirty and I really didn't want to be outside since it was so cold, but once I got into it, it wasn't bad at all! The fresh air was really nice, and I felt so productive, picking up all these broken vodka bottle pieces. We even found someone's debit card lol.

After a while, they asked the trash pickers to go inside and help out there; we were getting ready to clean off the dusty frames and fans in this room when the guy asked for two more people to go help paint, and I jumped at it! It was pretty fun; I got paint all over my arms and pants though cuhs I kept forgetting the walls were wet lol fail. Plus I got to know some of our neighbors a little better! (:

We all got free t-shirts, and I picked this one! I really liked the red color, and this was the last one, and it was XL lol. I guess I could pin up the back or wear it to sleep or something lol.

After lunch at Hedrick (they had sushi! ♥ California rolls, but whatever!) I met up with Ken and we went over to the rec center in De Neve. I played pool for the first time! It was really bad and embarrassing at first cuhs I couldn't even hit the cue ball, but Ken gave me some tips, and we played a team game against two of his friends, Kameron and John, and I ended up making more balls into the pockets than Ken! We won, by the way. (: ... And then we played these two people, James and Irene, and we totally got owned hahaha. It was awesome; at one point Andy was playing, and he made this really amazing shot. And then he went again and shot the eight ball into the pocket hahahaha.
There was a piano in the room too, and a lot of people took turns playing some songs. It really made me sad to hear it, especially when Ken busted out all these songs he had been working on -- memorized. I'm definitely going home and playing some piano. I need something to show for my 15 years of hard work lol.

Eric, David, John, Andy, Ken, me, Jessica, Ashley, and ... ASDF I HAVE NO IDEA. Kameron's holding the camera.

Afterwards we went to Jamba Juice (I didn't get anything though), and then Game On! to pass the time until the 20% off sale at the Bruin Store at 7pm. Ken just played Call of Duty for the whole time. I don't know if it was the close proximity to the screen or if I was hungry or what, but I started to feel really nauseous.

John and Andy went to play Starcraft II, and I just kind of sat behind them and watched. I was pretty lost, and they didn't really answer when I asked them about it cuhs they were so into the game lol. Typical guys.

We left Game On! around 6:45pm, and there were all these people and the band in the area.

We had been planning on going in and grabbing the clothes we wanted and just pay at exactly 7pm, but they totally closed down the store and everyone was just gathered outside the doors. We made our way to the front, and when they opened the doors, we just bolted inside hahaha.

Mom texted me this morning saying we all forgot Dad's birthday yesterday, so I said we'd get him a sweater. I got him this black pullover sweater with UCLA in yellow letters lined in blue. ... And then right after I paid I found a zip-up one. D8 But I didn't want to get back in line to exchange it so yeah.

We were just going to grab some dinner at De Neve, but John kept insisting we go somewhere in Westwood, so eventually we did. Some more of their friends joined us: Vivienne, Josh, and Kyle. We were actually just walking around for a long time; we found an Aahs and an Urban Outfitters! 8D They got all excited about the power rangers shirt lol. I remember seeing that at the Aahs back home; I think Richard Del Pino has the red one too lol.

We finally settled on this pizza place that served these massive 23-inch pizzas for a reasonable $18! We got their White Pizza, which is essentially a spinach + alfredo thing, which I was really excited about since Tiffany and I had talked about trying from Papa John's, but never got a chance to.

There were these lumps of cheese on the pizza, and someone compared it to tumors, and John took the pie server thing and smoothed it all over the slices lol. It was pretty good; really cheesy, and I would've liked some tomato sauce in there, but still pretty good. (8 When we finally left, we saw Andrew Schurr outside! I guess he was kind of touring Westwood with this big group of people. It was pretty cool to see him again; I haven't seen him in years!

LOLWHUT.

Afterwards we went back up to John's room to grab our Bruin Store purchases that we had left there before going to Westwood. He tried on these shorts he bought and suddenly realized they were women's shorts hahaha; they were like super narrow. So we all headed back to the Bruin Store since the sale was still going on (it was a little after 10pm, and the sale went on until 11), and I figured I might as well take this chance to exchange the pullover I got for that zip-up. I called Mom and she advised me to get a gray sweater instead, preferably with yellow and blue lettering, but I couldn't find something like that, so I just got this one. Hopefully Dad will like it!

Devin rewrote the white board outside their room hahaha. ♥

... And then they doodled on post-its over Alyssa's poster LOL.

Our shower rumbles for some reason when you turn on the lights, and I guess they've christened it "the yetti"! Hahaha I love how colorful our dorm's becoming!
You know, I've been really concerned lately because I don't think I've really had that instant "click" with my roommates that I've had with some of my other friends, and I had related this to some of the guys today, and most of them don't spend much time with their roommates either! Ken said that he's heard most of the friends you make will be from classes or clubs, so that made me feel better. I've always just kind of imagined becoming best friends with my roommates, and I realize that's not necessarily what will happen, and it's okay. I really like all my roommates and suitemates, and I am glad that we all get along just fine. You know, when we were just about to leave the Bruin Store the second time around, Madison texted me saying that they were all wondering where I was and if I was okay cuhs they hadn't seen me all day, and I was definitely touched. I came back and we did have stuff to talk about, and I love how they've gone around and added fun little touches to the dorm, like the white board and the post-its. Everything's going to be just fine. (:
