The MC was really easy. Like, really easy. I don't even think I'm being overconfident; I went back and looked over all my answers, and I think they're all right! The passages were all really straightforward; there was really only one passage I had trouble with, and it's because the English was a bit more difficult, and the whole thing was very metaphorical (like, it described a wig as something something false from something corpse. Or something like that). But even that one I figured out after a few reads. And I confided in other people, and most of them got the same answers as me too.
I was so proud of myself for the first essay. It was this poem called The Century Quilt, and I just rocked it. I might not have gotten a 9, or an 8, or even a 7, but it was definitely better than anything I'd ever written in Stover's class. I just kept thinking about that essay Ryan wrote for the Blackberry Picking poem and how I'd picked up on all the analysis he wrote about, and how for some reason I didn't mention any of it. And so I kept thinking "What would Ryan do?" (I told him this later and he laughed.) Okay, maybe not literally, but something along those lines of keep analyzing, keep going, write down everything you noticed! I talked about the colors, about the quilt's association with the speaker's hopes and dreams, and so on. I skipped over to the third essay next, cuhs the second essay was the hardest for me, and judging by the amount of time it took me to write the first essay, I was probably gonna run out of time. The third one, the free response, asked about a character who'd been exiled, and I was like OH OH OH TESS. CUHS SHE WAS EXILED PHYSICALLY AND SOCIALLY. So I wrote about that lol. And then I went back to the second essay, which was the passage, and I couldn't quite figure out what it was talking about. Like, at first it seemed like the speaker was talking crap about the guy. Then he kind of wasn't. And then there was this Belinda girl. And yeah. That one was a mess lol. I still feel pretty good about it though. (8
I was going to go to swim practice today; I haven't gone in like, three weeks (lol), and today's the last practice, but the review game went on longer than I had expected, and I didn't really feel like it afterwards lol.
