Calc AP Exam today! I feel so good about that MC; after I took it, I was like ... omg I got a 5! I was so proud of myself because there was this one problem that was really tricky; basically they wanted you to find the tangent line, but they didn't give you the point it's a tangent to. We've never seen a problem or an approach to this kind of problem before, so I felt like a genius when I realized you're supposed to use (y1-y2)/(x1-x2), and then sub the y equation back into that. ... But then the FRQ killed me. D; I don't know what happened; the problems themselves weren't that bad, but the wording of the problems completely threw me off. It was one of those problems that referred to derivatives as rates, and I spent ungodly amounts of time analyzing the sentences because I couldn't figure out if they wanted the first derivative or the second derivative. Anyhow, I ran out of time for the first section, the calculator section. I finished the no-calculator section a little earlier and went back to the first section and finished setting up the problems, but we couldn't use our calculators anymore, so I couldn't solve for them. The exam ended up going a lot longer than I had thought it would; when I finally got out and turned my phone back on, I had all these missed calls from JenLeung, cuhs we had prelims today. I was walking with Kelvin Kook, and then we were calling different people on the team, and then JenLeung told me the bus had left, but they had pulled over and we waiting for us on the corner of 182nd and Yukon, so I turned around to tell Kelvin, and he was gone. And I was like looking all around to find him, and then I just hurried off, cuhs I still had to go to my car and get my stuff. JenLeung called me and basically said they were right about to leave if I didn't get there soon, so I ran with my huge-ass bag and parka, and then I finally got on ... and found Kelvin already sitting on the bus. -___- And then he was like "Oh yeah, I called Mika and she said the bus was still there so I just ran!" and I was like "WTF, I heard the bus was there and I was looking for you to tell you! -_____-" And hilarity ensues, psh.
