OCCACC Scholarship Dinner tonight. (8 It was at the Island Hotel in Newport Beach, so we left pretty early to drive over. Mom and Dad took millions of pictures as usual. Anyhow, the hotel was gorgeous. And I mean you expect hotels to look nice, but it was all just so fancy!
THE BATHROOM WAS SO NICE. It was huge! There was this whole waiting area with couches, and then another room with individual hand towels in baskets, and then the actual room with toilet stalls, AND THE DOORS WERE ACTUAL DOORS. It was so beautiful. (`:
There were all these waiters coming around, asking if you wanted something to drink or offering little appetizers. It was so cool, I've only seen this kind of stuff in movies! There was this one thing in a mini taco shell and it was so good. *____*
The actual dinner was pretty meh lol. It was really similar to the dinner at the Toyota Scholarship Dinner.
These old Chinese women need to dress their age. |: Seriously, the clothes some of these women wore were just ridiculous.I felt a little out of place at the scholarship though, since almost everyone there was from the same school, or at least from the same area. I was the only one from Torrance. Mom found the scholarship in the Chinese newspaper, but they probably found it through their school.
I ... had such high hopes for the dessert. D: It tasted something like cranberry sauce.
Then it finally came time for the scholarship recipients to go onstage. The guy on the right's the president; we'd seen him earlier but totally didn't realize that. He's so young! He has braces! LOL.
That girl in the red two places to my right sat at our table; it totally gave me a shock when I first saw her. I thought she was Chelsea! It wasn't, but she looked a lot like her and dressed a lot like how she would lol.I guess they asked this other girl who sat at our table to talk a bit about the scholarship, and as soon as she got up there, she introduced herself and was like "I'm the president of this, this, and this," and I was like "... lol wow."
It was kind of weird; they just gave everyone's certificates to certain random people and expected them to pass them out lol. So you can imagine it was kind of chaotic afterwards, when everyone was trying to get their papers.Anyhow, we slipped out of there quickly after that and went home. (x
After we got home, Mom and I decided to practice my hair for prom. I didn't really know what I wanted, so she pulled out the hair curler (which we've never used before lol) Dan gave her and started curling my hair.
