166.

Jane brought all this carrot cake for Mr. Brack today, since apparently he's getting married (omg)! ... But he wasn't even here today so we just split it among the class lol.

First round of Mind Madness and we DOMINATED! (: Ned's team went against Tony & Clement's team, and they got everyone to believe that Ned's team lost (Khang and I were like "HELL YEAHHH.") ... And then after fifth I caught up to Ned and was like "Lol what happened?" And he was like "Yeah, no we won. =D" And I was like "... Goddammit!"

So I got a sub for work today cuhs I had my interview for the UCLA Alumni Scholarship, originally at 6pm, which would conflict with work. And then after I got a sub, they email me saying they switched my time to 7. And then I found out they switched me for Natsha. |: Lol anyhow. I was preparing for questions like "Why do you deserve this scholarship," and such and such, but they totally didn't ask anything I was prepping for! The first question was something along the lines of 'If you were editor in chief of Times Magazine, who would you put on next week's cover?' And my mind went shitshitshitshitshitOBAMA! LOL. But yeah. There were a lot of tough questions, and I feel like I was being too "political," which is really not me at all. The easiest question for me was something about leadership; I just recounted my whole YMCA-Owen story, and it was really easy since I had already written a whole essay on it. And then I realized that essay was for this scholarship, so basically I was just telling them info they already knew. |: They also asked me about an activity that I wish I could've done better in or something, and I mentioned AD and Kent (not by name though) and how I think it's great how he's like, leading the team and stuff.

I felt okay about the interview afterwards, but looking back, I probably could have done so much better in that interview. It was really intimidating, since there was just this row of people sitting on one side of the tables, staring at me on the other side. When they asked me to introduce myself I probably should have said more than just "My name is Annie and hopefully I'll be going to UCLA next year," and incorporated all the things I had been prepping for in there somehow.

Mom and I went to buy bread at Ralphs after her lessons cuhs she's gonna make me some sandwiches for my weekend at Santa Cruz! C:
