I drove over to the DMV with Dad, and we actually got there quite a bit earlier than we had last time, which in retrospect, was probably a good sign, and there was hardly anyone in line. After watching for a while, I figured there were only three examiners, and I found the lady who failed me last time real fast (except she didn't look quite as intimidating this time). There were four cars ahead of me and she went with the first car, so I was really hoping she'd be back to take the girl in front of me; I wanted the Asian guy lol. When the lady got back, it was exactly as I'd hoped, and I figured she'd go to the car in front of me ... but there was this old guy in the lane next to us with a motorcycle, and she went and helped him instead. And they took a really long time. And the whole thing I kept thinking 'Oh shit oh shit, the first guy's gonna come back, take the girl in front of me, and then she's gonna finish with the motorcycle and come to me.'
And it actually happened kind of like that. The two other guys came back just as she finished, and they all stood together and talked for a minute, so I thought 'Okay, this could go any number of ways now.' And then the white/hispanic/whatever guy went to the girl in front of me, and I was like 'Asian guy Asian guy Asian guy!' ... And then the lady came to me and I was like 'Crap.' So I figured I might as well make the best of the situation; I tried talking a little, and I said "Oh hey, I think I had you last time too." And I can't remember exactly what she said, but apparently I can't have the same examiner twice (probably for fear of bias), and she switched with the white/hispanic/whatever guy! Holy shit!
Anyhow, the route we went through was essentially the same as the one Dad and I had been practicing the past few weeks, so I was pretty happy about that. During lunch, Tiffany had told me to wear dangling earrings so that every time I turned my head to check for traffic, they'd be able to hear it (to which I replied "LOL well I don't have bells on my earrings"), which I didn't do, but I was really focused on making my checking-around really noticeable and I didn't get marked off for that at all! I did get marked off a few times for not getting close enough to the curb, which is a really silly mistake on my part, since I never not do that when I practice, but I guess I was just really focused on swinging my head around.
When we finally got back to the parking lot and I parked, the guy didn't say anything and was just scribbling stuff down on the score sheet, so I was pretty terrified to look. When I finally stole a glance, I saw he had circled "passing" in the top right corner. And I couldn't quite grasp the concept until the paper was in my hands and I was staring at it. (`:
OH GOD. I WENT TO PRACTICE AND WE WERE DIVING, AND SANDI WANTED TO RACE AND SHE BEAT ME. ;O;
